The name “Clos des Fous” is an ode to the 12 years that both Pedro and François spent studying and working in Burgundy, as well as to what their peers described as their ‘craziness’ in crossing the traditional Chilean vineyard boundaries to source grapes from those in the more extreme conditions further south and east. Pedro now makes wines under his own label but was originally one of the four ‘Fous’ alongside winemakers François Massoc and Paco Leyton, as well as Albert Cussen, who looks after the business.
An incredible wine with ripe and rich fruit, boasting aromas of dark berries and mahogany. It is fulled bodied on the palate with ripe, well-structured tannins and long, intense finish.
"Pour Ma Gueule" is dark ruby in colour with violet highlights. A fruit-forward wine with aromas of red berries, black cherry and black pepper with hints of violets. These elements come through to the palate, revealing a medium-bodied wine with fine tannins and lively acidity.
The nose is highly aromatic with notes of cherry, raspberry and chamomile coupled with an earthy granite character. The flavours on the palate are consistent with vibrant red fruit, refreshing acidity and a more savoury character on the finish.
