Piedmont: Untouched through time
Piedmont’s most planted grapes are Barbera (31%), Moscato (22%), Dolcetto (13%), and Nebbiolo (10%), although there are over 20 varieties planted in the area. With 17 DOCGs and 42 DOCs, Piedmont has more protected wine styles than any other Italian wine region, and all wine is top-notch, there are no IGP designations.
For the most immersive experience into Piedmont’s wines, start with a crisp, medium-bodied glass of the Arneis white grape. It’s one of the most respected in the region, and you can see why by tasting a Baracco de Baracho Roero Arneis DOCG.
There’s nothing like Barolo for game meat and hearty stews. Made with Nebbiolo, these wines are uncontested worldwide. Diego Conterno Barolo DOCG with bright aromas of tar and roses over a rustic palate is a splendid example. Also, the Virna Borgogno Barolo Cannubi Boschis DOCG from the most important plot in the denomination; it’s a real treasure.
Lighter bodied reds are delightful. Both the Diego Conterno Dolcetto d’Alba DOC and the Bricco Maiolica Dolcetto di Diano d’Alba represent the quality of the better-valued red grapes.
This crisp white wine shows incredible mineral, zesty citrus and floral notes, with a hint of spice and characteristics hints of bitter almond. Prominent mineral characters linger on the long and precise finish.

This Moscato d'Asti is delicately sparkling, with a lovely perfume of freshly crushed grapes and sherbet. On the palate, it is perfectly balanced with soft, sweet fruit, a hint of Turkish delight and lively, fresh acidity.
The color is intense ruby red with violet reflections. The nose is very fruity, delicate with an unmistakable hint of violet. In the mouth it is dry, harmonious and pleasantly bitter. Structured and elegant due to its correct acid balance, it is a ready-to-drink wine.
This Moscato is youthful yellow in colour with green hues. On the nose there are expressive aromas of sage and fresh yellow fruits such as apricots, peaches and exotic fruits followed by elderflower, pear and a hint of sage. A delicate, fine mousse refreshes and cleanses the palate. The balance between sweetness and freshness carries into a long creamy finish.

This Dolcetto d’Alba has a lively deep purple color. The nose opens with tones of wild berries, mulberry, hints of white pepper and sweet spices and fresh thyme. The palate is bursting with blueberries and fresh plums, with a refreshing acidity that makes it a great accompaniment to food. The finish is elegant with a lovely almond note.
Ruby red color tending to garnet. Bouquet: fragrant and delicate, with hints of violet, humus and woodland spices. Taste: dry, rustic and expressive, supported by good tannins.
Purple-red with pleasant aromas of fresh red fruit, cherry prevails. In the mouth it is slightly tannic, a typical characteristic of the vine.
Made from the Cortese grape this is dry and refreshing, with vibrant and fruity aromatics underpinned by floral nuances. Intense and fruit-driven on the palate, with notes of crunchy green apple, mineral tones and a delicious mouthwatering lemonpeel finish.
Intense straw yellow. It has deep and persistent, floral and fruity scents, which are enriched with mineral and flint tones. In tasting it is typical, with aromas reminiscent of chamomile, ripe plums and walnuts. Complex and soft, it closes with a finish reminiscent of lightly toasted almonds.
