About this wine

The Pinot Nero grapes of the Alta Langa Rose Cuvee Leonora Cascina Bretta Rossa are grown in the Tagliolo vineyard at an altitude of 300 meters on sedimentary tufa soil. The harvest begins in August, it is manual in small boxes with selection in the vineyard. Soft pressing is followed by clarification of the must and fermentation at a controlled temperature. Alta Langa Rosé DOCG “Cuvée Leonora” Cascina Bretta Rossa ferments in the bottle according to the production regulations of the Classic Method. The contact with the yeasts remains for at least 24 months followed by the traditional remuage su pupitres and dégorgemant à la glace. Will refine in the bottle. VARIOUS NOTES AND PROJECTS: The product of the current harvest is added to a 10% cuvée of the previous harvest, aged in oak barrels; the result is a sparkling wine with at least 24 months of ageing on the lees, round and rich. The Cascina Bretta Rossa Wine is located in the municipality of Tagliolo Monferrato, Alta Langa Piemontese, on an ancient 600 stone barn located on a 400-meter-high jug that dominates the Stura and Orba valleys, the city of Ovada to the west and that of the stream Piota to the east with a beautiful panorama of vineyards and woods that overlook the plain and that, on the clearest days widens in the arc of the Alps for much of the year covered with snow from the Monviso to the Gran Paradiso.
