Corte A 2017 – Bodega Vistalba

Full Body Red

Intense garnet red color and very complex aroma in which ripe red plums and dried peaches stand out. Spicy notes such as nutmeg and pepper also appear. From its passage in the woods we find notes of vanilla and cocoa. Palate with a lot of structure and volume where the red fruits stand out. Nice and persistent finish.

About this wine

The grapes to produce the Corte A Bodega Vistalba are harvested in 20 kg boxes: Malbec grapes in late March; Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in early April and Bonarda grapes in mid-April. Vinification takes place in concrete containers, without epoxies. Cold pre-fermentation maceration for 3 days at a temperature of 25 ° C. Aging in 35 hl foudres and French oak barrels for 18 months, 40% corresponds to new wood. The soil is of alluvial origin with an upper layer of clayey silty composition, therefore the profile is dominated by a conglomerate with abundant presence of boulders and covered with a layer of calcium carbonate. Height: 995 meters above sea level. Malbec from block no. 4 with a depth of the top layer of about 60 cm. Bonarda from block no. 2 with a depth of the top layer of about 40 cm. Cabernet Sauvignon from block no. 7 with a depth of 40 cm and a percentage of clay greater than the previous ones. Bodega Vistalba was founded in Mendoza in the year 2003 by Carlos Pulenta, the third generation of a traditional winemaking family. He built the winery in a family estate in the area of Vistalba, in the district of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, and poured all of his experience and passion for winemaking into the realization of a family project. He combined the long-standing tradition of the Pulenta family, their historical vineyards, and the implementation of modern winemaking techniques to make elegant wines that would stand at the level of the greatest in the world. Paula Pulenta, the fourth generation in the family, nowadays leads the winery. Together with a team of professionals, they hold a firm position in the domestic and international markets. They export their wines to countries in every continent.
