About this wine
The Côtes de Provence Rosé “Rock Angel” Château d’Esclans is partially barrel fermented in large oak barrels and made from Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle (Vermentino). This rosé bears a complex and structured taste profile bringing it into a more premium realm giving rosé lovers a bigger and richer wine that is fabulous as an aperitif or paired with a broad range of fine cuisine.
Château d’Esclans is located twenty five kilometers northwest of the ancient Roman city of Fréjus on the Mediterranean coast. The winery, located in the center of the Var department, where most of the Provence AOC rosé wines are produced, was originally part of a castle dating back to before the 12th century. The estate, now belonging to Sacha Lichine, has a total of 427 hectares, of which 140 are vineyards. Ever since the purchase of the property, Sacha Lichine had a clear goal: to create the greatest Rosé in the world. In fact, Sacha, showing great foresight, had sensed that Rosé, conceived, produced and marketed in a different way, could have gained new interests and alternative market shares.
