Merlot 2021 – Vellas

The grapes to produce Merlot Vellas were harvested when they had reached full maturity and were fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Merlot Vellas  was made in an unoaked style in order to retain the fruity characteristics of the Merlot variety. The grapes were carefully sourced from selected growers in the Valle Central, which encompasses the subregions of the Maipo Valley, Rapel Valley, Curico Valley and the Maule Valley. The Central Valley is a 1,000 kilometre plateau which sits between the Andes Mountains and the cool Pacific Ocean. The climate, with its warm sunny days, cooler evenings and intense sunlight encourages a long growing season, which is ideally suited to producing healthy grapes with concentrated fruit flavours. The soils are fertile and the vineyards benefit from a natural irrigation from the melted snow from the Andes.
