The grapes to produce the Verona IGT “Serai Bianco” Le Morette are harvested at the start of September by hand, transporting the grapes in small baskets. Fermented in stainless steel after soft crushing of the grapes. Aged for a minimum of one month in the bottle before release.
Wine obtained from an exclusive selection of white grape varieties: Turbiana, Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay.
Founded by Gino Zenato over 60 years ago, the Le Morette – Valerio Zenato Farm was born as a nursery for the production of cuttings for viticulture. From the beginning Gino supported this activity with his own wine production, as a direct test of his activity as a nurseryman. In 1981 the management passed to his son Valerio, who enriched the production with valuable wines, immediately characterized by a strong personality. He thus obtained the first awards and definitively set the company on the road to quality wine production. The Le Morette – Valerio Zenato Farm is today one of the most dynamic realities in the Lugana DOC production area. It is based in San Benedetto di Lugana, in the thin strip that separates the southern shore of Lake Garda from the Laghetto del Frassino, an important naturalistic site and nature reserve. The farm is spread over 32 hectares of vineyards divided into three estates, two in San Benedetto di Lugana and one near Palazzo di Sirmione, in the cultivation area closest to Lake Garda. Here are the most tenacious soils, which sometimes force the vine to limit conditions, in particular for water reserves. However, this is the area of the “first territorial cru”, the one in which white wines of greater structure and characterized by a marked minerality are produced. The company philosophy is based on the solid link with the territory whose balance is guaranteed in particular by the use of organic amendments and substances of natural origin. Each phase from processing, from the vineyard to harvesting and vinification, is personally followed by the family, to guarantee a production of character and personality.
