The Macabeo DO Cutio J. Navasqués is made from grapes grown on 25 year old vines, which have been hand-harvested. The grapes were cold macerated on their skins for 12 hours, after which the wine remained in concrete vats in contact with the lees for 10 months.
Thi is the very first vintage of Cutio Macabeo, in which the winery are following the same philiopshy as in Cutio Garnacha. Pureness and expression of the grape variety, together with an outstanding balance, focused to be enjoyed by a wide range of consumers.
“My family and I are a third generation of wine growers and winemakers from Aragón (Spain), that, apart from our small family own wine project, also act as consultants for wineries in the whole country. Since 2002 we are working on our personal project –Mas de Mancuso- recovering very old high qualityvines –aged between 50-70 years old- at almost700mtrsaltitude in Aragón. We are based in Almonacid de la Sierra where we rented a very old winery trying to keep the same winemaking methods than our ancestors had.”
