Ansonica Elba DOC 2017 – Mola
Intense golden yellow colour. Bouquet characterized by floral notes, with hints of broom, honey and beeswax, savoury taste, particular with delicate acidity and light tannic sensation, with strong mineral notes characteristic of the vine.
The Ansonica of Elba Mola is cultivated at an altitude of 50 meters on flat, medium-textured terrain with exposure to north and south. The harvest is manual in boxes with selection in the vineyard and begins after the second half of September. The Ansonica dell’Elba Mola ages in 25 hl stainless steel containers until February, is bottled between March and May and then aged in glass for 2-3 months.

The farm of Mola is located in the plain and on the hills of Mola, a town on the Island of Elba between the municipalities of Porto Azzurro and Capoliveri, a short distance from the sea. Since 1956 it has been owned by the Pavoletti family since 1994 has started to renew its own vineyards to produce quality wines based on the native vines characteristic of the Island of Elba to produce quality white, red and quality wines, all belonging to the DOC Elba.
The particular variety of terroirs and microclimates within the 30 hectares of property has allowed the use of numerous native vines in the approximately 10 hectares of the company’s vineyard, located in four different areas between the plain and the hills of the homonymous locality, ranging from the use of Sangiovese, Aleatico and cabernet for the reds to the use of Procanico, Malvasia, Vermentino and Ansonica for the whites.
The adoption of modern winemaking techniques together with moderate use of containers used in wood makes it possible to obtain a wide range of flavours and aromas, both with white and red wines, all characterized by great freshness and flavour thanks to the land and the proximity to the sea.
Great attention has always been paid to Passito wines, in particular Aleatico whose plants come exclusively from the selection work carried out by the company over the past 35 years on existing material, while for drying, special structures designed and built with inside the company to obtain a gradual drying process that preserves the health and the aromatic integrity of the grapes for this prestigious wine of absolute particularity.
