The Gaglioppo Cantine Scala is cultivated at an altitude of 200 meters on clayey, calcareous soil with southern exposure. The harvest starts between the first and second decade of October with selection of grapes and manual harvesting; the grapes are then macerated at a controlled temperature for about 15 days, after which they are softly pressed. The Gaglioppo Cantine Scala ages in cement tanks for 24/36 months then ages in the bottle for at least 6 months
Territory: the Scala company covers an area of 60 hectares, of which about 40 are cultivated with specialized vines for the production of high quality grapes and the remaining ones with orchards. The structure of soils rich in clay and calcium, favors the excellent growth of the vine and the complexity of red wines, while the skeletal richness determines a composition of great aromatic complexity in white wines.
