Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2016 – Podere Fornacellaby Valentino Minotti
ORGANOLEPTIC EXAMINATION: Ruby red color. The purple floral is combined with the fruity currant and ripe marasca, creating a beautiful olfactory bouquet. The taste is tannic but still delicate and fine, fairly balanced and harmonious in persistence.
The Rosso di Montalcino Podere Fornacella is made as per disciplinary of 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes. The vineyards are located on an altitude between 280 and 400 meters above the sea level facing south/east. The Rosso di Montalcino Podere Fornacella is vinified in red with fermentation in steel vats open from 15 or 30Hl, three daily pump-overs for a week. Another week closed vat with pumping over and finally, the last week rests before drawing off. The wine is then matured in wool for 12 months and aged for other 12 months in bottle before release.
