Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT “Equinotium” 2013 – Mattia Filippiby Valentino Minotti
ORGANIC EXAMINATION: bright ruby red color, fresh aromas of red fruits and berry jam, hints of Mediterranean spices and chocolate. Soft and silky tannins, strong elegance and balance, great capacity for aging and positive evolution.
The Equinotium Mattia Filippi is made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Casteller, at an altitude of 230 metres a.s.l. facing north-south-west-east exposure. The wine is fermented in whole grapes in small containers without the use of pumps, fermentation at low temperatures for 30-40 days. The Equinotium Mattia Filippi is then matured in French oak barrels, ageing on fine fermentation lees for 12-18 months with batonnage. Low content in sulfites.
NOTES: “It all started by chance, maybe the fate as in the best of meetings, but I think it also depends on the FORCE VOLERE, from believing in the earth and its potential and knowing how to capture the best expressions of nature, that area, those vineyards, in Casteller south of Trento, kissed by the sun and caressed by the wind of the Dolomites, symbol of Trentino viticulture and the City of Trento. In the winter of 2008 I was convinced that those vineyards should have an expression of those HARMONIES through a wine, thus beginning the challenge, the search for perfection, a path that will last years and which will impose the knowledge and research of the potential of each single vine, thanks to the help of Rossella Marino Abate (Marsala winemaker) We try to make sure that people, through our wines, can discover, know and share the EMOTIONS that they experience while savoring the fruit of hard work in the field “. – Mattia Filippi
