This expressive, barrel-fermented Viognier seduces you with the beautiful perfume of honeysuckle and orange blossom and a textured palate of apricot, kiwi and pineapple. A sensual and exotic experience. Asian inspired cuisine; lamb tagines with apricots; or rich shellfish dishes such as seared scallops or grilled lobster.
Purple Angel displays the rich flavours typical of Carmenère. Deep carmine red in colour, this wine has aromas of blackberries, ripe blueberry, dried plum and candied fruit combined with toasted notes of nutmeg, sweet spice, vanilla and pastry. On the palate, it is well-structured with rich tannins, a balanced acidity and a long, lingering finish.
This wine is straw yellow in colour with green nuances. On the nose, there are intense aromas of citrus and passion fruit, with herbals notes of sage and basil. For many this is the essence of The Drift Farm. The nose shows an intoxicating explosion of super ripe mulberry, black cherry, ripe plum, white pepper and fynbos herbs (especially Buchu). The palate echoes this intensity and unctuousness with rich, black mulberry, a hint of creamy caramel and savoury, wild fynbos herbs adding a nice salty note. The tannins are comfortable, but present, offering a warming structure that balances the mocha vanilla of the wood. This wine benefits from being decanted a day or two before consuming. It will age gracefully for at least 20 years if stored correctly.
A little toasty flint opening. Quietly sweet, not exuberant but with a real density of aroma. A hint of anise and liquorice. A generous, but finely structured palate with generous, sweet red fruit combined with layers of soft spice.

This wine is precise and fills the palate with flavours of toasted brioche and tangerines. It is incredibly concentrated with refreshing acidity and is perfectly balanced. It is drinking well now but will also develop favourably with further bottle ageing.

This wine is a study in structure and refinement. Deep garnet in colour, it expresses aromas of boysenberry, cedar and clean earth. Well‐delineated, featuring finely sculpted layers of pipe tobacco, leather, dried herbs and wet slate. Structured, polished and precise tannins are accented with vanillin over an intense 60‐second finish.
The nose shows lively dark berry fruit and Morello cherries with hints of star anise, ground fennel seeds and cedar. The wine is exceptionally linear and precise, yet lithe and elegant. The complex dark berry fruit follows through from nose to finish with a minerality that reflects the 100% decomposed dolomite granite of the soil. The wine is characterized by its amazing concentration derived from the extremely low yielding single vineyard.
