Salina Bianco IGT “Tenuta Valdichiesa” 2017 – Salvatore D’Amicoby Valentino Minotti
ORGANOLEPTIC EXAM: Straw yellow color. Floral and fruity scents come to the nose, in particular reminiscent of hawthorn and tropical fruit, together with a pleasant almond nuance. On the palate it is fresh but still balanced, characterized by the aromas of melon and pear, which in the aftertaste leave room for the return of the almond.
The Salina Tenuta Valdichiesa d’Amico is a bland of Catarratto 50%, Insolia 40%, Malvasia delle Lipari and other traditional grapes 10%. The wine is made from a single vineyard, Tenuta Valdichiesa located at 350 meters a.s.l. west facing. The harvest is carried manually and the wine is vinified in white. The Salina Tenuta Valdichiesa d’Amico is then matured 50% in barrel tonneaux for about 4 months, the remaining 50% in steel and then aged in bottles before release. The wine inserted in the projects “Interpretations” and “Wines of the Mediterranean Minor Islands” and obtained with organic farming grapes certified by ICEA.
