Chassagne Montrachet 2020 – Domaine René Monnier

The grapes to produce Chassagne Montrachet Domaine René Monnier were meticulously sorted and were gently pressed as whole bunches, followed by static settling of the must before fermentation. Chassagne Montrachet Domaine René Monnier is vinified with traditional methods, fermentation took place in barrel and one third of the wine was then matured in oak barrels, of which 25% were new oak, for 14 months. Delicate bâtonnage took place, which imparted texture and complexity. The wine was lightly fined and filtered, before being estate bottled by gravity.

The vineyards are farmed according to “la lutte raisonnée”, using sustainable agricultural methods, reducing the use of chemicals in order to respect the land and its environment. The soils in the vineyard are chalk mixed with clay, retaining moisture in dry weather, but also offering good drainage in cooler weather.
