The Soave Roccolo del Durlo Le Battistelle is made of 100% Garganega grapes from Roccolo del Durlo. The vineyards used to produce the Soave Roccolo del Durlo Le Battistelle are located on soil of volcanic origin with a strong presence of tuffaceous breccias. The grapes are harvested manually in the box with selection in the vineyard. Cryomaceration and soft pressing, then the wine is matured in steel for 1 year on fine lees with constant batonnage.
Le Battistelle started in 2002 after the family gave up selling their grapes to a local wine Cooperative and began a proper vinification. The farm grows 9 hectares vineyard divided into many small pieces all situated in the hills of Brognoligo. The more united piece is the “Battistelle vineyard” situated in the cru of the “Castellaro” hill and the cellar takes its name right from it. It is here, where the vine-growing activity is a very old one, that between the highest and pebbly hills, where the soil is of volcanic origin that the grape variety Garganega matures and best expresses all its power and gives unique wines, not repeatable anywhere. A mix of structure and elegance surrounded by a well-balanced acidity and minerality.
Gamino’s farm, based on familiar conduction has great respect of the vine-growing tradition of the zone trusting that only working with the primitive vine variety and pressing for a vine growing which expects high quality we can obtain typical and singular wines able to make a positive impression to the consumer. The house sign is the “gerle”, Which were used until years ago to carry out grapes from the hilly vineyards; it is an important document that gives evidence to the ancient area.
