About this wine

The Dolcetto di Ovada  Colma 14 Cascina Bretta Rossa grapes come from a historic family vineyard cultivated on calcareous soil, medium-textured tuff with an east, north-east exposure. The harvest is manual in small boxes beginning in September-October and the vinification is in red. After the controlled temperature fermentation, the Dolcetto di Ovada DOC “Colma 14” Cascina Bretta Rossa ages in oak barrels on the second or third passage. Once stability is obtained, it is left to rest in the bottle before leaving the cellar, followed by further refinement. VARIOUS NOTES AND PROJECTS: this wine stands out for its typical softness and fragrance qualities, showing also a propensity for a medium aging very useful to refine more. The Cascina Bretta Rossa Wine is located in the municipality of Tagliolo Monferrato, Alta Langa Piemontese, on an ancient 600 stone barn located on a 400-meter-high jug that dominates the Stura and Orba valleys, the city of Ovada to the west and that of the stream Piota to the east with a beautiful panorama of vineyards and woods that overlook the plain and that, on the clearest days widens in the arc of the Alps for much of the year covered with snow from the Monviso to the Gran Paradiso.
