The grapes of Dolcetto di Ovada Superiore Tajà Cascina Bretta Rossa are cultivated on medium-textured calcareous/tuffaceous soil, very fresh with an east, north-east exposure. The harvest begins between September-October with manual collection in boxes and the vinification is traditional in red with temperature control. The Dolcetto di Ovada Superiore DOCG “Tajà” Cascina Bretta Rossa ages in coarse wood for 12 months and then matures in the bottle.
VARIOUS NOTES AND PROJECTS: maximum expression of Dolcetto di Ovada, strongly desired by the Cascina Bretta Rossa company to make this great, noble and at the same time easy wine known outside the boundaries of the area. It takes its name from an eighty-year-old vineyard still in great shape maintained at limited yield. Sparse but full bunches.
The Cascina Bretta Rossa Wine is located in the municipality of Tagliolo Monferrato, Alta Langa Piemontese, on an ancient 600 stone barn located on a 400-meter-high jug that dominates the Stura and Orba valleys, the city of Ovada to the west and that of the stream Piota to the east with a beautiful panorama of vineyards and woods that overlook the plain and that, on the clearest days widens in the arc of the Alps for much of the year covered with snow from the Monviso to the Gran Paradiso.
