The grapes to produce Chardonnay “Naturalys” Gérard Bertrand were harvested by hand when they reached peak maturity. The fruit was lightly pressed to extract the finest juices, then a portion of the juice was cold settled for 48 hours. A proportion of the must was fermented in barrels, while the rest took place in temperature controlled stainless steel vats, maximising the fruit’s rich aromas and freshness. Chardonnay “Naturalys” Gérard Bertrand was gently fined before bottling.
From the beautiful landscapes of the South of France, the Naturalys collection of wines is produced entirely from organic grapes, grown in the terroir of the Languedoc and nourished by the Mediterranean sun. Gérard Bertrand’s commitment to sustainable agriculture has been recognised with the ECOCERT certification, guaranteeing organic production, environmentally-friendly packaging and a low carbon footprint. The soils in the vineyard are clay-limestone, which tend to stay cooler and help to retain moisture, beneficial in this warm climate site.
