The hand-harvested grapes of Merlot “Naturalys” Gérard Bertrand were picked when they had reached optimal maturity. They were then destemmed and macerated for 10 to 15 days in temperature controlled stainless steel vats. Frequent pump-overs took place to extract the fruit’s rich aromas, fine tannins and colour. Merlot “Naturalys” Gérard Bertrand was fermented and aged in stainless steel in order to display the purest expression of Merlot and bottled after six months.
Gérard Bertrand’s commitment to sustainable agriculture has been recognised with the ECOCERT certification, guaranteeing organic production, environmentally-friendly packaging and a low carbon footprint. The soils in this vineyard are clay limestone.
